U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that a deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran had been completed, issuing directives to open the Strait of Hormuz and lift a U.S. naval blockade.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said: “The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all.”
He added that he had authorized the “toll-free opening” of the Strait of Hormuz for maritime traffic and simultaneously ordered the immediate lifting of the United States naval blockade.
“Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow,” he wrote.
