Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) announced on Saturday the capture of one of the most prominent administrative and financial figures of the ISIS terrorist gangs in Anbar province.
A statement from the directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "in a swift and preemptive security operation, detachments of the Military Intelligence Directorate in the Intelligence and Security Department of the Seventh Infantry Division, in conjunction with the Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Department of Al-Qaim, were able to overthrow one of the most prominent administrative and financial cadres of the ISIS terrorist gangs in Anbar Governorate."
The statement added that "the operation, which was based on highly accurate intelligence information, led to the arrest of the terrorist known as (Abu Musab), who was primarily responsible for distributing what is known as (sponsorships), i.e., (financial entitlements and support) to terrorist elements and their families within the so-called (Euphrates Province) sector."
It indicated that "an arrest warrant had been issued against the terrorist in accordance with Article 1/4 of the Counter-Terrorism Law, and legal procedures have been initiated against him."
The Military Intelligence Directorate affirmed: "Its proactive operations to pursue the remaining terrorist elements and enhance security and stability throughout the country will continue."
