Seize the opportunity to reach agreement, Egypt says on US-Iran ceasefire
Egypt has welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement that planned military strikes against Iran had been cancelled, expressing hope that the move would create momentum for a comprehensive agreement between Washington and Tehran.
In a statement posted on X, Egypt’s foreign ministry said it viewed the development with “great satisfaction” and urged all parties to seize the opportunity to resolve outstanding issues through negotiations.
Egypt hopes “the available opportunity will be seized to reach an agreement on various outstanding issues and to foster an environment conducive to ending the war and launching a new phase of regional stability”, the ministry said.
