The Iraqi Writers Union Honors Renowned Translator Abdul Wahid Musallat

The General Union of Writers and Authors in Iraq, in cooperation with Dar Al-Ma'mun for Translation and Publishing at the Ministry of Culture, honored the intellectual and literary figure of the renowned translator Abdul Wahid Muhammad Musallat in a ceremony held at the Union's headquarters in Baghdad. The event was attended by a large gathering of prominent writers, authors, translators, and those involved in cultural affairs.

In a speech reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Ishraq Abdul Adel, Director General of Dar Al-Ma'mun for Translation and Publishing, stated that "honoring Iraqi creative figures represents a genuine commitment to cultural identity." She also highlighted "the esteemed position of translation in Iraq and Baghdad's historical and pioneering role as a global hub in this field throughout the ages."

Abdul Adel added that "translator Abdul Wahid Muhammad Musallat is among the most prominent figures who have enriched the Iraqi and Arab cultural and academic landscape with his distinguished works."
