Reuters reported on Thursday that Iran and the United States are still negotiating a preliminary agreement.
The agency quoted informed sources as saying that "Iran and the United States are still negotiating a preliminary agreement, despite ongoing disagreements on a number of key issues."
It added that "the two sides have made progress in narrowing the gaps during the indirect talks, but a final agreement has not yet been reached, and key issues, including the Iranian nuclear program and some security and economic arrangements, are still under negotiation."
According to Reuters, the talks are focused on drafting a preliminary framework that paves the way for a broader agreement, amid assurances from officials in both countries that there are positive signs, while work continues to address the outstanding points.
