Committee for Disengagement receives fighters records and inventories weapons and vehicles belonging to the Imam Ali Brigades

The Joint Operations Command announced on Wednesday that the Disengagement Committee had received data on the fighters and inventoried the weapons and vehicles belonging to the Imam Ali Brigades .

The command stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the committee formed to disengage and integrate into the ranks of the security forces continued its work, in implementation of the government program of the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, which was approved by the esteemed Iraqi Parliament."

It added that “the head of the committee, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, supervised today, Wednesday, the receipt of all files and data related to the individuals, weapons, equipment, and vehicles that were in the possession of the Imam Ali Brigades (PBUH), in the presence of members of the committee and leaders of the Imam Ali Brigades (PBUH), in preparation for completing the stages of integration and reorganization, and canceling all other names and titles of these heroic formations.”

It noted that “this step comes as part of ongoing government efforts to strengthen the foundations of stability, reinforce the rule of law, and restrict weapons and armed manifestations under the authority of the state and the official security system, in a way that serves the security of the country and its citizens.”
