Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Tehran was not behind the attack on a U.S. helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, quoted by Al Jazeera, said that "Iran was not behind the attack on the U.S. Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz," adding that "such incidents could occur unintentionally due to the tense atmosphere in the strait."
He added that "there was no deliberate targeting by Iran of the U.S. helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz."
