US President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday the safety of the crew of the American helicopter that crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, amid continued uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of the incident, which coincided with an exchange of strikes between Iran and Israel.
Trump said, "The crew of the American helicopter that crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, consisting of two pilots, are safe."
He added, "I believe things will calm down in the region because both sides have agreed to a ceasefire," further stating that "economic sanctions on Iran are better for us than the military option."
