Israeli forces have killed at least 13 Palestinians since Sunday, including children, a fisherman and police officers.

The Palestinian health ministry reported nine deaths on Sunday, with a further four fatalities on Monday, according to local media.

An Israeli strike early this morning hit tents belonging to displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza, killing two civilians. Another strike in Jabalia in the north killed two people, including a child.

On Sunday, 14-year-old Hadeel Ayman Jundiya died from injuries sustained in earlier strikes in Gaza City.

Four others were killed in Rimal neighbourhood when the army targeted civilians inside a vehicle near Palestine Square.

At sea, Israeli naval forces fired on fishing boats off the coast of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, killing 15-year-old fisherman Muhammad Musa Abu Giab.

Zakaria Bakr, coordinator of the Union of Fishermen’s Committees in Gaza, said that Israeli naval forces also arrested other fishermen in the area.

In southern Gaza, five Palestinians were killed during an Israeli strike on a police checkpoint west of Khan Younis.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military’s coordinator of activities in Gaza and the West Bank (Cogat) announced on Sunday that the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing, which is used for aid deliveries, was closed following the renewed conflict with Iran.

The crossing was reportedly reopened on Monday morning, but fears persist that ongoing hostilities could disrupt aid entry into Gaza.

Aid supplies have already fallen significantly below required levels in recent months due to severe Israeli restrictions, despite a ceasefire.

The US-brokered agreement, signed in October, aimed to end Israel’s two-year genocide in Gaza by halting attacks and facilitating humanitarian aid. However, Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire, allowing an average of only 200 trucks of aid per day, compared to the agreed 600.

UN agencies, human rights organisations, and Palestinian witnesses continue to raise alarms over severe shortages of food, water, fuel, medicine and other essential supplies.

Israeli forces have also continued bombing the enclave, killing at least 970 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian health ministry. Attacks have intensified in recent weeks, with 119 deaths in May alone.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have killed nearly 73,000 Palestinians. Thousands more remain missing or trapped beneath rubble.
