Prime Minister Attends Condolence Gathering for Grand Ayatollah Al-Fayyadh in Najaf

Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi on Sunday attended a condolence gathering held in the holy city of Najaf in memory of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Al-Fayyadh.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Zaidi attended the mourning ceremony held in Najaf for the late senior religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Al-Fayyadh.

The statement said the prime minister extended his deepest condolences and sympathy to the late cleric's family and to members of the Hawza religious establishment, praying that Allah grant him His vast mercy and eternal peace, and bestow patience and solace upon his family, followers and students.

Al-Zaidi also performed a visit to the shrine of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib in Najaf, praying for the protection of the Iraqi people and for the continuation of security and stability across the country, the statement added.
