The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Hammam Al-Hammoudi, and State of Law Coalition leader Nouri Al-Maliki on Sunday underscored the responsibility of all national political forces to prioritize the country's higher interests and accelerate the completion of the ministerial cabinet.
Al-Hammoudi received Al-Maliki to discuss regional developments and the latest political developments in Iraq, while exchanging views on the requirements and challenges of the next phase, according to a statement issued by the Islamic Supreme Council's media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement said both sides stressed during the meeting that all national forces share responsibility for prioritizing the country's higher interests in order to expedite the completion of the cabinet lineup.
The two leaders also emphasized that the challenges and difficulties facing the country require exceptional cooperation and efforts from all parties to mitigate their impact on citizens and public services.
They further highlighted the importance of the Coordination Framework's role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the political process, preserving stability, and creating conditions conducive to the success of the government's program, the statement added.
