First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan and the head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, emphasized on Sunday the importance of consolidating stability and strengthening national unity, as well as the necessity of continued coordination among political forces to support the performance of state institutions.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan received the head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq, Sheikh Humam Hamoudi, at his guesthouse."
"Political matters were discussed, along with the overall situation in the country, in addition to reviewing the most prominent regional developments and their repercussions on the national situation."
According to the statement, both sides emphasized "the importance of consolidating stability and strengthening national unity, and the necessity of continued coordination among political forces in a way that supports the performance of state institutions and contributes to advancing the paths of construction and development," stressing that "the current stage requires prioritizing the national interest and unifying efforts to confront challenges, consolidate sovereignty, and protect national gains."
