Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi directed the relevant authorities on Sunday to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of the traffic accident that occurred in Al-Bathaa district.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi is closely and continuously following up with the local government in Dhi Qar Governorate and its relevant authorities on the repercussions of the horrific traffic accident that occurred in Al-Bathaa district, which resulted in dozens of casualties and injuries among the residents of Basra."
According to the statement, the Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He also directed the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the causes of this tragic accident, provide immediate care for the injured, and offer his full support and solidarity to the families of those who passed away, may God Almighty have mercy on them.
