Parliament Speaker Meets with the Jordanian Prime Minister

​ The Speaker of Parliament, Haibet Alhalbousi, and his accompanying delegation met on Sunday, with the Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Jafar Hassan.

​“During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the depth of the historical and solid relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, as well as their shared keenness to strengthen these ties across various fields to serve their mutual interests,” stated the Media Office of Parliament Speaker in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-NA.

​The statement further stated that, “The meeting also highlighted the need to move forward with joint projects between the two countries in the sectors of energy, electricity, and economic and trade exchange. The importance of making maximum efforts to facilitate trade and cooperation between the private sectors and business communities of both nations was stressed, especially in light of the circumstances and challenges currently facing the region, which underscore the importance of joint cooperation to mitigate their impact”.

​The Speaker of Parliament commended the support of Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah II for Iraq in facing challenges, as well as the strengthening of bilateral cooperation across all areas to serve the interests of both brotherly peoples.

​For his part, the Jordanian Prime Minister affirmed his country’s position in support of consolidating security and stability in Iraq and continuing its development journey, stressing that the security of Iraq is an integral part of the security of Jordan and the region.
