The funeral procession for the late Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammed Ishaq Al-Fayyad began today, Saturday, in Najaf, amidst a large gathering of religious scholars, officials, and the public.
A reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that "the funeral procession was marked by an atmosphere of grief and mourning," noting that "the city bid farewell to one of the most prominent figures of the religious seminary, who dedicated his life to serving religious sciences and jurisprudential research."
He added that "the funeral procession departed from his office and home in the Al-Jadeeda district of Najaf towards the shrine of Imam Ali (peace be upon him)."
