Iran adviser says US talks deadlocked as war risks widen
A senior Iranian military adviser says talks with Washington are stuck, warning that any renewed war could spill across some of the world’s most vital shipping routes.
“The negotiations are at a deadlock and Trump must break this deadlock,” Mohsen Rezaei told CNN in Tehran. “The ball is in Trump’s court.”
Rezaei, an adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, said a resumed conflict could expand into the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Mediterranean.
Yemen’s Houthis, backed by Iran, have so far avoided attacks in Bab el-Mandeb.
