The official funeral ceremonies for the eminent religious authority, Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Al-Fayyadh, commenced today, Friday, in the holy city of Kadhimiya, with broad participation from government officials and public figures.
Speaking to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Abbas Al-Bayati, a senior figure in the Islamic Dawa Party, said “With the passing of Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Muhammad Ishaq Al-Fayyadh, we have lost one of the pillars of knowledge and scholarship who enriched the Islamic nation through his contributions. He embodied moderation and unity and consistently called for tolerance, harmony among Iraqis, and the preservation of civil peace.”
He added “We extend our condolences to the Iraqi people and the followers of Ahl al-Bayt for this painful loss, and we pray that God bless our nation with others like him.”
Al-Bayati further emphasized that the Hawza of Najaf is capable of continuing its scholarly mission, but noted that the loss remains profound. He concluded by praying that the late cleric be granted the highest ranks in Paradise and be gathered with the Prophet and his purified family.
