Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais al-Muhammadi, confirmed on Thursday that a joint committee has been formed to regulate the mechanism for separating the Popular Mobilization Forces’ administrative linkage and to ensure the monopoly of weapons under state authority.
He indicated that the first step in this process is the reintegration of the forces, after which their operational structure will be reorganized.
Al-Muhammadi added that these forces will be placed under the direct military command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
