Iraqi, Jordanian Foreign Ministers Discuss Preparations for Arab–European Meeting

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Wednesday discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi preparations for the upcoming Arab–European meeting scheduled to be held in Amman.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Hussein received a phone call from Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi.

At the beginning of the call, Al-Safadi congratulated Hussein on the renewal of confidence and his assumption of the foreign ministry portfolio for a new term, wishing him success in his duties.

The two sides discussed ongoing preparations for the sixth Arab–European meeting, scheduled for June 22–23, 2026, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the participation of Arab and European foreign ministers. They emphasized the importance of the meeting in strengthening dialogue and coordination on issues of mutual regional and international concern.

The call also addressed bilateral relations between Iraq and Jordan and ways to enhance cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their peoples.
