The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, affirmed on Tuesday that the government has a roadmap to confine weapons to the state. He also pointed to the most important issues discussed with the local government in Najaf Governorate.

Al-Hakim stated in a joint press conference with the Governor of Najaf, attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The government program focuses on confining weapons to the state, and there is a roadmap to finalize this matter." He emphasized that "the resistance factions are awaiting next September, the date of the end of the international coalition's presence, to resolve the issue of confining weapons to the state."

He explained that "the housing file is one of the important files, and it was discussed with the local government in Najaf to address the housing crisis, including the Peace City residential project. The agricultural file and the farmers' entitlements were also discussed, as well as supporting the national economy by addressing the farmers' problems."

Al-Hakim continued, "The oil sector and field exploration in Najaf, which is one of the most important economic resources in Iraq, were also discussed."

He pointed out that "there is great harmony between the local government, in both its executive and legislative branches, and the representatives of parliament, in a way that serves the province," noting that "Najaf is of great importance due to its unique status as a center of religious authority and the presence of holy shrines, and therefore deserves comprehensive infrastructure within the framework of development and reconstruction efforts."
