National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed to the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, on Monday that Iraq supports dialogue and understanding as a means to achieve stability.
The media office of the National Security Advisor stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, received the Ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, Patrick Durel, and discussed with him strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as reviewing the latest developments in the regional and international situations and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region and the world.”
Al-Araji praised "the important role played by the European Union and France in supporting diplomatic efforts, promoting understanding, and maintaining the ceasefire, which contributes to achieving full stability in the region."
Al-Araji stressed to the French ambassador that "the use of force is not a viable solution," emphasizing that "Iraq supports dialogue and understanding as the best way to achieve security, stability and sustainable development."
For his part, the French ambassador affirmed his country's keenness to develop relations with Iraq in various fields, especially economic and security, as well as to enhance cooperation on the environmental file, noting that Iraq represents a pivotal country and has an important and influential role in the region.
