Interior Ministry announced on Sunday the formation of a specialized investigative team to examine the martyrdom of a crime investigation officer in Basra.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA, the ministry said that Senior Undersecretary Hussein Al-Awadi had directed the establishment of a dedicated team to investigate the martyrdom of Major Hussein Asaad Abu Risha Al-Jaberi, an officer assigned to the Basra Criminal Investigation Department, who was martyred in the Al-Asmaei area.
Al-Awadi stressed the need to intensify security and intelligence efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, pursue those responsible, arrest them as quickly as possible, and refer them to the judiciary to face justice in accordance with the law.
He added that the ministry would not tolerate any attempts to target members of the security forces or undermine public security, emphasizing that justice would take its course against those involved in the crime.
