The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, and the Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, emphasized today, Sunday, the importance of supporting the government and empowering it to implement reforms.
Al-Hakim's office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, received the Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali."
"The meeting addressed a number of current issues, primarily the latest developments in the political scene and the completion of the cabinet. Both sides stressed the necessity of continuing inter-political consultations to support the government of Ali al-Zaidi and enable it to implement reforms and confront the challenges at hand."
"They emphasized the importance of utilizing this stage to launch effective economic solutions that stimulate the national economy and diversify its resources, with a focus on activating productive sectors and enhancing revenue sources. They also stressed the need to unify positions in confronting the current challenges."
On the regional level, the two sides, according to the statement, expressed their optimism that the ongoing consultations in the region would lead to a permanent and just solution that restores stability and prevents escalation, noting that the region cannot bear any more tension, which will negatively affect global security and international economic interests.
