Iranian media outlets reported on Friday that explosions were heard in Bushehr province in southern Iran, coinciding with air defense systems engaging hostile aerial targets and intercepting a U.S. drone.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency said that “the sounds of explosions in the city of Jam in Bushehr province were linked to the activation of air defense systems against hostile aerial targets.”
Tasnim News Agency quoted a military source as saying that “Iranian air defenses successfully intercepted a U.S. drone in Bushehr.”
It added that “the interception operation was carried out through the launch of an air defense missile toward the drone.”
