Iran’s Supreme Leader, Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, said on Thursday that the enemy is seeking to create social division in an attempt to compensate for its military defeats.
Speaking before members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in remarks followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Sayyed Al-Khamenei praised the efforts of MPs and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, noting that “the past three months following what he described as the ‘Third Sacred Defense’ revealed the true character of the Iranian people in faith and action.”
He added that the current stage requires lawmakers to mobilize all capabilities in a jihadist spirit in order to achieve integrated governance in cooperation with the government, and to work toward rebuilding the country and addressing citizens’ problems, particularly economic issues.
Sayyed Al-Khamenei called for supporting production and employment opportunities, advancing science and industry, combating corruption, and curbing inflation and rising prices, stressing that “society needs realistic indicators of hope, a stable path, and clear prospects for the future.”
He also highlighted the importance of identifying priorities and relying on opinions based on in-depth specialized consultative studies, maintaining close engagement with the public, and comprehensively fighting corruption, while prioritizing national interests over partisan and factional considerations.
He stressed the need to preserve national unity, describing it as “one of the most important factors for achieving victory and overcoming external challenges.”
