The Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday the killing of several terrorists in a special security operation conducted by the 11th Division of the Iraqi Army in Kirkuk Governorate.
"Iraqi Army units, supported by Special Forces, continued to carry out their national duties in pursuing the remnants of terrorism and eliminating its sources. A joint force within the sector of the 2nd Battalion of the 44th Infantry Brigade, affiliated with the 11th Division in Kirkuk, was able to carry out a special security operation based on precise intelligence information," a statement issued by the Ministry and received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement highlighted that "the operation resulted in the killing of terrorist elements, as well as the destruction and detonation of several hideouts used by terrorist gangs as shelters and logistical support centers."
The Ministry of Defense affirmed its "firm determination to continue tracking down terrorist elements wherever they are found, and not to allow the security and stability of the country to be threatened, relying on the outstanding intelligence effort and the continuous support of the people."
