Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi congratulated the Iraqi people on Tuesday on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, affirming the government's commitment to exerting every effort to preserve Iraq's security, sovereignty, and independence.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Prime Minister said: "I extend my sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the Iraqi people and all Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha. I pray to God Almighty that returns this blessed occasion to us while we enjoy goodness and prosperity, and accepts the pilgrimage of the guests of the Sacred House of God is accepted as they perform their rituals during these blessed days."
He added, "This Eid arrives while our region is experiencing sensitive circumstances. We hope that security and stability will prevail throughout the region through dialogue and diplomacy, far removed from the logic of war and aggression."
Al-Zaidi affirmed, "I take this opportunity to emphasize the government's commitment to exerting every effort to preserve Iraq's security, sovereignty, and independent decision-making, and to diligently serve our noble people who deserve a dignified life within our beloved Iraq and its democratic constitutional system."
He concluded by saying, "May our dear Iraqi people enjoy continued well-being and prosperity."
