Prime Minister and Iranian President Discuss Regional Situation and Reducing Tensions by Phone

Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed regional developments and reducing tensions in a phone call on Tuesday.

The Iraqi News Agency (INA) received a statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office indicating that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received a phone call from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian." The statement added that "the two sides exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, expressing their wishes that God would bring it back to the Iraqi and Iranian peoples and the entire Muslim world with abundant blessings and stability."

"The call addressed bilateral relations and the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in a way that enhances mutual benefit for the two neighboring peoples. The two sides also discussed the situation in the region and the necessity of continuing regional and international coordination and cooperation to reduce tensions and promote dialogue and de-escalation, thereby contributing to greater stability in the region and the world."
