Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem confirmed on Sunday that disarming the resistance is tantamount to stripping Lebanon of its defensive capabilities and paving the way for genocide, and that this will not be accepted. He pointed out that the )Israeli( project aims to gradually occupy Lebanon.
In a speech commemorating the Resistance and Liberation Day, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Qassem stated, "Disarmament is stripping Lebanon of its defensive capabilities and paving the way for genocide, and this is something we cannot accept." He called on the Lebanese government to "reverse the decisions it has taken against the resistance and stand with its people."
Qassem added that "(Israel's) project is to annihilate the resistance and gradually occupy Lebanon as part of its broader scheme."
He continued, "The recent American sanctions are aimed at exerting pressure, and this reflects an inability to achieve its objectives." He emphasized that "the sanctions will not weaken us, and if America becomes more aggressive, it will have nothing left in Lebanon because it will destroy it over the heads of its people and itself."
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah stated, "The Lebanese authorities tell us, 'Help us disarm you, so that (Israel) can then enter, kill you, and displace your people.'" He clarified, "The Lebanese authorities are responsible for sovereignty and protection, so will they abide by what the constitution stipulates regarding this?"
He added, "All the killing and destruction aims to bring us to our knees, but we will not kneel. We will remain in the field, and we will emerge from this war with our heads held high. We will rebuild our homes, our people will return to their houses, we will expel the enemy in defeat, and we will soon declare the third liberation."
