Secretary-General of the Badr Organization Hadi Al-Ameri and Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani emphasized the importance of cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil to address outstanding issues.
In a statement issued by Al-Ameri’s media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Ameri received Barzani on Saturday at his office in Baghdad, in the presence of members of the organization’s leadership council. The meeting discussed recent developments in the country and ongoing political efforts to complete the formation of the federal government.
It added that discussions also covered relations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region, as well as issues of mutual concern, particularly financial and oil-related matters and mechanisms for joint coordination to serve the national interest.
Both sides stressed the importance of continued alignment of positions and cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil, and the need to maintain channels of communication in order to support the resolution of outstanding issues in a spirit of understanding and responsibility.
