The Iranian Foreign Ministry affirmed on Wednesday that it is negotiating in good faith, stressing that the American side must prove its seriousness in the negotiations.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said in statements to Iranian television, which were monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The exchange of messages between Tehran and Washington is continuing according to the Iranian text consisting of 14 points."

He added, "We are negotiating in good faith, and the American side must prove its seriousness in the negotiations," explaining that "the visit of the Pakistani Interior Minister to Iran is to facilitate the exchange of messages."

He continued, "We are currently focused on ending the war on all fronts, especially in Lebanon," noting that "if the other side insists on its excessive demands, then it can be said that diplomacy has not achieved its results."

Baghaei pointed out that "the American naval blockade is a violation of the ceasefire and contrary to international law."
