A 4.7 magnitude earthquake strikes southern Iran

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported early Wednesday that a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck Hormozgan province in southern Iran.

The EMSC added that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 14 kilometers.

A week earlier, Iranian state media, citing the Iranian National Seismological Center, reported that a 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the capital, Tehran.
