The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Sunday the conclusion of extensive inspection and search operations conducted by PMF Nineveh Operations Command units in the Nineveh Desert and Al-Baaj areas, as part of their plan to enhance security and pursue remnants of terrorist elements.
A statement issued by the PMF and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) indicated that "units of the PMF Nineveh Operations Command have concluded extensive inspection and search operations conducted in the Nineveh Desert and Al-Baaj areas, as part of their plan to enhance security and pursue remnants of terrorist elements."
"The operations resulted in the discovery of a hideout and an ammunition cache containing materials and logistical equipment used by terrorist elements, which were dealt with on-site by explosive detachments in accordance with approved security procedures."
According to the statement "This operation comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts made by the Operations Command to secure the desert areas, dry up the sources of the threat, and enhance security stability in Nineveh Governorate."
