Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi commended the national stances of the leader of the Shia National Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, on Sunday, while also emphasizing the importance and effectiveness of the movement in the political and social realities.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received a phone call from the leader of the Shia National Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, who congratulated him on his government winning the vote of confidence in Parliament."
According to the statement, the call addressed "the general situation in the country, emphasizing the preservation of sovereignty and stability, improving public services, strengthening reform measures, and combating corruption to safeguard the country's resources, ensure a decent life for the Iraqi people, and protect their rights."
Al-Sadr praised "Mr. al-Zaidi's efforts and the spirit of determination and perseverance he has demonstrated since assuming his official duties." During the call, the Prime Minister praised “Mr. Sadr’s patriotic stances and expressed the importance and effectiveness of the Shiite national movement in the political and social reality.”
