The head of the State of Law Coalition Nouri al-Maliki, on Sunday emphasized the importance of the role of staff at the Ministry of Oil in developing the oil industry and advancing the gas sector.
A statement from the media office of the State of Law Coalition, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that al-Maliki received Oil Minister Basim Mohammed Khudair in his official office in Baghdad earlier in the day.
Al-Maliki welcomed the minister and wished him success in his new duties.
He stressed the importance of the role played by the Ministry of Oil’s staff across various specializations in developing the oil industry and improving the performance of the oil and gas sectors, contributing to increased production capacity and strengthening Iraq’s oil policy to face current challenges. He also called for making use of Iraqi expertise and further developing skills through continuous training and qualification programs.
For his part, the Oil Minister expressed his appreciation to al-Maliki, affirming his commitment to exerting maximum effort to improve the ministry’s performance, develop infrastructure, and raise the country’s production capacity in coordination with specialized international companies, in a way that serves the national interest.
