Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday that he had agreed with U.S. President Donald Trump to strengthen communication and coordination on international and regional issues.
Speaking during a small-group meeting held on Friday morning in Zhongnanhai with his U.S. counterpart, Xi said Trump’s visit to China was “historic” and had helped establish a new vision for strategic relations between the two countries.
Xi added, “We agreed to enhance communication and coordination on international and regional issues,” stressing that cooperation between Beijing and Washington could contribute to development and prosperity in both countries.
The Chinese president also said that China and the United States are capable of achieving further progress by expanding areas of joint cooperation.
