The presidency of the parliament on Thursday called on Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to expedite the completion of his cabinet.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the parliament presidency said the speaker and his two deputies held a meeting on Thursday evening during which they stressed the need to complete the ministerial formation and congratulated al-Zaidi on winning parliamentary confidence for his government and ministerial program.
The statement added that the parliament presidency urged al-Zaidi to quickly finalize the remaining cabinet members and submit the names to parliament in line with parliamentary entitlements.
It also stressed that parliament would monitor the government’s performance during the coming period, while expressing its support for the government in implementing its ministerial program and meeting the aspirations of the Iraqi people.
