The government of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi received congratulations on Thursday after gaining the confidence of the Council of Representatives.

The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, said in a post on the (X) platform, which was received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We extend our warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi on his government's gaining the confidence of the Council of Representatives."

He affirmed "support for the new government as it assumes its executive duties," wishing the Prime Minister and his cabinet members success in their work. In service to Iraq and the Iraqi people.”

Meanwhile, Mohammed al-Halbousi, head of the Progress Party, confirmed in a post on the (X) platform, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “We congratulate Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on his government winning the confidence of the Council of Representatives.”

He added, “We ask God Almighty to grant him success in this national responsibility, and that the next phase will be one of stability and genuine service to Iraq and its people.”

The Secretary-General of the Iraqi Islamic Party, Rashid al-Azzawi, also congratulated “Ali al-Zaidi’s government on winning the confidence of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, wishing him and the ministers success and guidance.”

The Victory Coalition, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), congratulated “the formation of the new government with its ministers and prime minister,” noting that “the governmental transition in Iraq represents a milestone reflecting the democratic path of the system, despite the challenges, complexities, and narrow interests that accompanied and continue to accompany it, which the state could have done without.”

It continued, “As we evaluate what has been achieved during the past phases of the governments, we emphasize the importance of building on the positives and addressing the shortcomings with a spirit of national responsibility, in a way that strengthens the people’s trust in state institutions.” This aligns with his legitimate aspirations,” noting that “the success of any government remains contingent upon its ability to solidify the values ​​and principles of the state, activate institutions within the framework of good governance, free from favoritism, corruption, and chaos, and adopt wisdom, competence, and national interests as the foundation for managing the country’s major issues.”

The Services Alliance expressed its appreciation for the Iraqi Parliament session that resulted in granting confidence to the government of Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and voting on the cabinet, describing it as a constitutional entitlement that reflects the maturity of democratic practice and embodies the principle of the peaceful transfer of power within the constitutional and institutional frameworks of the Iraqi state.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Alliance commended “this national path,” emphasizing that “the parliamentary will to form the government represents a translation of the citizens’ will and their democratic choices, and an important step towards strengthening political stability and consolidating the foundations of the democratic system, thus supporting institutional reform and reinforcing confidence in the state’s ability to manage the next phase with efficiency and national responsibility.”
