Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed on Thursday that China's rise and the "Make America Great Again" slogan can go hand in hand.
In remarks reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Chinese president stated that "US President Donald Trump's visit to Beijing is historic."
He added that "China's rise and the 'Make America Great Again' slogan can go hand in hand."
He pointed out that "the United States and China benefit from cooperation and lose from confrontation," indicating that "China and the United States should become partners, not adversaries."
