The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, affirmed today, Thursday, the Region's support for forming the government, while demanding the equal provision of services across all parts of Iraq.
Barzani said in a speech during the inauguration of a bridge and main streets project in the city of Soran, north of Erbil Governorate, which was attended by the correspondent for the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "It is necessary to reactivate state institutions, and we have always supported the government and parliamentary institutions so that they are effective and deal responsibly with the opinions of the Kurdish people."
He added: "The elections were conducted to grant citizens confidence in the parties and to urge them to take their responsibilities seriously. Since the first day, we supported the reactivation of parliament and the rapid formation of the government, because this serves the Kurdish people and the political parties themselves."
He continued: "We demand the implementation of the constitution as it is, and the equal provision of services throughout Iraq, just as an integrated program must be established to address the existing problems."
