The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, and the Director of the Iraqi News Agency - INA, Sattar Al-Ardawi, discussed on Wednesday ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Iraqi diplomatic missions and the Iraqi Media Network.
“The Ambassador and the Iraqi Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States received at the embassy building in Cairo, INA Director Al-Ardawi, on the sidelines of his participation in the Global South Media Forum held at the Arab League headquarters in the Egyptian capital, Cairo,” the embassy said in a statement received by INA.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Iraqi diplomatic missions and the Iraqi Media Network, aiming “to highlight the missions' activities and diplomatic initiatives, shed light on their efforts to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations, and convey a realistic and professional image of Iraq's presence in regional and international forums."
They emphasized “the importance of fostering media cooperation to keep pace with the rapid developments in the media sector and to enhance communication and information exchange mechanisms between media institutions and Iraqi diplomatic missions, supporting the national media discourse and reflecting Iraq's positions and efforts at the Arab and international levels."
“The role played by national media sources is important in supporting diplomatic work and highlighting the official, cultural, and economic activities undertaken by Iraqi embassies abroad, thereby enhancing Iraq's regional and international presence," they underscored.
