Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Joint Operations Command Lt. Gen. Qais al-Muhammadawi held an expanded security conference on Tuesday aimed at enhancing intelligence and field coordination among security units.
The Joint Operations Command said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that al-Muhammadawi chaired the meeting to discuss and review plans related to controlling operational sectors, addressing security challenges, organizing and optimizing available resources, improving decision-making and professional response mechanisms, and strengthening coordination frameworks among all security entities. The meeting also focused on enhancing intelligence efforts across different formations.
The conference was attended by senior military and security officials, including the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations of the Iraqi Army, the Commander of the Ground Forces, as well as a number of commanders and directors from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, alongside representatives of the Popular Mobilization Forces and various intelligence agencies.
The statement added that participants emphasized the need for full control over operational sectors, activation of command-and-control principles and related procedures, enforcement of responsibilities and authorities, continued technical and human surveillance, and strengthening intelligence work with a focus on real-time information exchange between units.
The meeting concluded with a series of recommendations, including the preparation of detailed operational plans, clear assignment of responsibilities, resources and reinforcements across all sectors, and the establishment of defined timelines for implementing the approved measures.
