US President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that the United States is in direct contact with Iranian officials.
"We are in direct contact with Iranian officials, and we are not in a hurry to reach an agreement," Trump stated in a press conference.
"Iran will be prevented from developing a nuclear weapon; it is only a matter of time as the pressure mounts," he said, noting that "we expect the Iranian economy to collapse under the pressure resulting from the blockade of its ports."
"This conflict will be resolved without any need for haste," Trump continued, explaining that "Iran is being isolated, which is depriving it of revenue sources."
