Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi presented his ministerial program to Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi on Thursday.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi presented the ministerial program for the new government to Speaker of Parliament Haibat Hamad al-Halbousi." The statement added that "this took place during a meeting between the two today, and the program will be circulated to members of Parliament for their review and to familiarize themselves with its details. The names of the cabinet members will be submitted at a later date."
The statement further noted that "both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation and joint coordination to proceed with the process of granting confidence to the government and its ministerial program, as it is the fundamental pillar upon which the government will build its work and duties, based on constitutional and legal procedures." The Speaker of Parliament confirmed in a statement issued by his media office, and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “the readiness of the Council to set a date for the anticipated session to vote on the ministerial program and the ministerial formation, once the names are received from the Prime Minister-designate.”
