Head of the State Forces Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the need to move forward with forming the new government during a meeting with Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Bafel Talabani.
According to a statement issued by al-Hakim’s media office, the meeting, held at his office, discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region.
The statement added that al-Hakim emphasized the importance of proceeding with the formation of the new government and resolving upcoming constitutional entitlements, stressing that the government should reflect the will of the Iraqi people in all its components and prioritize economic and financial issues within its program.
On the regional level, al-Hakim renewed his call for ending the war and establishing peace in the region, warning against escalation and its repercussions on regional and international security, and calling for dialogue as a means to resolve outstanding issues.
