Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani announced on Tuesday his full support for Prime Minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Barzani said, "Today we concluded a fruitful and successful visit to Baghdad, where we met with all the alliances, national figures, and partners."
He added, "We emphasized joint work and cooperation to confront national political, security, and economic challenges, including ensuring the "Exclusive state control over weapons." and addressing the economic situation swiftly due to the repercussions of the regional situation." He noted, "We also emphasized ensuring the security of the countries of the region and stressing the need to stay away from regional conflicts."
"We discussed the formation of the new Iraqi government with our partners," affirming to the Prime Minister-designate "our full support for joint efforts to move Iraq and its people to a new phase of stability, development, and progress." Barzani said.
According to the statement, he expressed his gratitude for "the warm reception, open-mindedness, and positive and constructive discussions, all of which serve the best interests of Iraq."
