Oil prices fall amid US efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz

Oil prices fell on Tuesday amid indications that the US Navy is working to ease the blockade imposed by Iran on the Strait of Hormuz, which could open the door to oil supplies from the Middle East.

Brent crude futures for June delivery fell 68 cents, or 0.6%, to $113.76 a barrel, after closing 5.8% higher on Monday.

US West Texas Intermediate crude fell $1.59, or 1.5%, to $104.83, after rising 4.4% in the previous session.
