US Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper confirmed on Monday that a route had been opened in the Strait of Hormuz to secure navigation.
Cooper stated, in remarks followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We have opened a route in the Strait of Hormuz to secure navigation and we continue to enforce the blockade on Iranian ports."
He added that "the Revolutionary Guard launched missiles and drones at commercial vessels, and we provided protection for them," noting that "Project Freedom is a defensive operation, and we have deployed anti-ballistic missile destroyers."
