Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Friday that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi discussed the prospects for a full cessation of hostilities in the Middle East.
In a statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry said that “Lavrov and Araghchi discussed the possibility of a complete halt to hostile actions in the Middle East.”
The statement added that “the two sides also discussed freedom of navigation and a settlement of Iran’s nuclear program, as well as the passage of Russian ships and goods through the Strait of Hormuz.”
