The Iraqi Parliament held a memorial service on Wednesday to commemorate the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons (may God sanctify their souls).

A correspondent for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that the service was attended by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, as well as a number of other members of parliament.

The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, said in a speech during the memorial ceremony on the 28th anniversary of the martyrdom of Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (may God sanctify his soul), which was attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “May God reward you greatly on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyid Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr and his two sons, whose words are still present in the conscience of the nation and are the light,as we commemorate the anniversary, we revive the values ​​and principles that the martyred Sayyid planted through the establishment of the Friday prayer, which was the message and the starting point in the conscience of the nation.”

He pointed out that "the words of the martyred Sayyid al-Sadr have achieved their goals and are still ongoing, in addition to his good and continuous guidance in the conscience of the nation."
